Rentals and homes near campus

Older homes

Wilmore’s older streets include many homes built in the early and mid 1900s. Drainage and foundations

Water that isn’t directed away from a house can cause problems below grade. We inspect grading, surface drainage, and gutters and downspouts where they may affect the house, along with the foundation and any accessible basement or crawlspace. We report observed signs of active water penetration and of possible foundation movement, such as cracks and unlevel floors, so you know what to have evaluated further.

Radon

The EPA classifies Jessamine County as Zone 1, its highest radon potential category, and 65% of buildings tested in Central Kentucky come in above the EPA action level of 4.0 pCi/L. Two houses on the same street can have very different levels, so the only way to know is to test. We recommend adding radon testing to your inspection.
